About the Royal Gay Guesthouse

ROYAL Gay Guesthouse is situated close to the József Körút Boulevard at Pest side in VIII district. It is conveniently located in the downtown area near plenty of gay and gay friendly bars and clubs. It is just few minutes by walk from Ferenc körút metro station.

ROYAL Gay Guesthouse is fully gay owned and gay operated guesthouse. It is open all year long the check-in is on agreement per e-mail. The staff is fluent in English, Croatian, Serbian and Hungarian. They also operate with basic knowledge of German, Italian, Slovenian and Russian. They are always reachable by mobile phone for your assistance.
We offer all together 5 rooms in 2 separate apartments. Apartment # 1 is 150 sqm, while the apartment # 2 is also around 150 sqm big. Apartment # 1 is situated on the 2nd floor and has 3 bedrooms, living room, a kitchen, a bathroom and a dining room. Apartment # 2 is situated on the 1st floor and has 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, living room and a dining room. In apartment # 1 room # 1 has 1 single bed and one convertible double bed. Room # 2 has 4 single beds and room # 3 has 1 double bed. Living room has radio with CD and DVD player and a TV set with cable TV programs. Apartment # 1 has wireless internet access.
There is 1 elevator in the house which you can use. Intercom system is at front door. The guesthouse is very bright and sunny. It means that the windows are on the street side of the building. Kitchens are equipped with electronic devices such as microwave, fridge, electric stove, coffee maker and self catering. Bathrooms are equipped with bathing tube, with shower and sink. Central heating and unlimited hot water are available too. Gay guesthouse has ironing facilities and wash machine which is free of charge. The gay guesthouse is located very close to a supermarket and not so far from 2 city markets.
Towels, blankets and sheets etc. are provided. Key sets are available for every guest by demand. At check-in you can get the info where to buy tickets for public transportation and phone cards for public and mobile telephones.
Upon your arrival, in addition to the city map of Budapest we are providing our guests with free printed map with gay spots, but also other tourist brochures.

We charge 10 euro per 1 hour of city guiding and 20 euro per hour for the relaxing massage.

Directions

Gay guesthouse is very easy accessible, it is very close to Ferenc körút metro station, at blue metro line or M3. Kisfaludy Street is the next parallel street with József körút Boulevard. Also, you can use trams # 4 or # 6 to take you to the Ferenc körút station. During the night you can use night buses which operate every 15-20 minutes.

Distance from gay places

The gay guesthouse is a few minutes walk from famous Magnum gay sauna, 1 metro stop from Action gay bar (10 minutes by walk), and 2 tram stops from CoXX gay club (15 minutes by walk).

Airport

Our agency has long cooperation with distinguished and reliable partner - Budapest taxi Company which can bring you to the desired apartment for discount prices. Not to mention that you can save you time and money with them. We could warmly recommend you to take their service because of the security reasons. In case you leave/forgot something in a cab or have other problems, we know in any time who is the cab driver and the number of his vehicle. Please be aware that we do not guaranty the standard price in case you select other taxi company and they overcharged your fare.
If you decide to use Budapest taxi service call please your travel agent (Nenad) and the taxi will be ordered for you in a few minutes. You can request the taxi in advance through your emails but also upon your arrival, in a text message to Nenad. You can also call Nenad on his mobile phone +36306852643 or if you call from Hungary 06306852643, send him please the name of terminals (Terminal 1 or Terminal 2A or 2B). Once Nenad is notified about your taxi request, please go to the information desk at the arrivals section of the airport and wait for your taxi driver. The driver will come in 5-15 minutes with your name written on the paper board.
Please note that the price is fixed! From the airport Budapest taxi will charge you 6000 HUF or 26 euros with maximum of 20 minutes for waiting. Please wait on the information desk, and don’t go from there, because if the taxi driver is waiting for you more then 20 minutes you will be extra charged. The price from the apartment to the airport is 5000 HUF or 22 euros. These prices are valid from 10th October 2008. This is a special discount for our costumers!

This price is the same for one, two, three or 4 people!

If you don't want to use our partner taxi service you can select between other taxi companies, airport's Minibus or public transportation. If you prefer public transportation, please take bus # 200 from the last stop to the metro terminal. From there you can use blue metro line to the city center.

Train Stations

If you arrive to Budapest by train to one of 3 major train stations and want to use Budapest taxi services please call us or text message us immediately upon your arrival in Budapest, (from Hungary 06306852643 or from aboard +36306852643), and we will order taxi for you for discount price for our costumers.
If you don't want to use the taxi, please relay on public transportation. There are 3 different train stations in Budapest: Keleti (East), Nyugati (West) and Deli (South).
If you arrive at Nyugati station take trams # 4 or # 6 to the Ferenc körút station, go out to the side where the Corvine cinema is, go behind the movie till its end and there, turn into the Kisfaludy street.
If you arrive to Keleti or Deli train stations take the red metro line till Blaha Lujza tér station and from there trams # 4 or # 6 to the Ferenc körút station.

Parking

Usually there is no problem to find free parking space on the street in front of the building. There are no parking fees in this area. At the beginning of Prater street you can find a public garage which is guarded 24 hours. The fee is 1000 HUF (approximately 4 euros), per day, or 4500 HUF (approximately 18 euros) for a week. Reservations are not needed.

Change Rates & Payment

Please note that you need to make the reservation of your gay accommodation well in advance. Check-in is only by agreement made through the email communication. No credit cards are acceptable. You are requested to pay in cash immediately upon your arrival into the apartment! Please prepare the payment in EUR as we accept Hungarian Forints also. If you pay in Hungarian Forints, we charge you according to the exchange rates that are published on the day of your arrival from this web site: http://www.xe.com/ucc/. There are a lot of ATM machines where you can obtain Hungarian Forints using major credit/debit cards such as Visa, Mastercard, and Maestro etc.

We will send a written confirmation of your booking request as soon as possible, but definitively within 24 hours. Please wait for our reply and do not request reservations elsewhere so that we avoid double reservations at two or more different agencies. If your desired apartment has been already booked or occupied by somebody else, we will provide you with the information when it will be free and offer you a substitute apartment within the same price category.
